Lorenzo Foort
I was raised in a musical family. My dad, Stanley Foort is a DJ/producer and singersongwriter; my uncle Lucien Foort is also a DJ/producer and musician and my aunt Patricia is a singer and vocalteacher.
My dad taught me how to DJ in his studio when I was 12 years old, letting me listen to basically all dance genres, ranging from Latin-House to Drum and Bass.
After a long time of practicing in the studio, this resulted in my first gig in Club Sorbonne, Rotterdam at the age of 14… At this time my preferred genre was Electro House but slowly my taste evolved to Tech-House and Techno.
I started recording mixes in these genres which resulted in several gigs in Merz, Dordrecht and my first festival gig at Outdoor Stereo. After this came Grotesque Indoor festival, Wantijpop and BLLSD With Friends, from which the last two, I got the opportunity to spin B2B with my dad which was an amazing experience. The other gigs I shared stages with big names as René Amesz, René van der Weijde and my uncle Lucien.
After my dad showed me the way on the Macbook Pro with Logic pro that I got from my parents, I went in the studio with my dad to work on our first colab and my first release, named Drive.
This Tech-House tune will drop in august this year (2018)
So all in all I carry forth the musical torch of the family, or as we like to call it: The Foort-factor!
